Sustainability NZ

Our purpose is to assist organisations to develop their people and practices in sustainable ways. To do this, we focus on our responsibilities to employees, the community, the environment and financial viability.

Sustainability is achieved in different ways, often through offsetting the impact business activities have on people and the environment retrospectively, often at considerable cost. Our approach is proactive. We seek to protect the wellbeing of employees, the community and the environment whilst mitigating any harmful impact that business activities can have.

We do this by addressing employment matters to promote a culture of mutual understanding of laws, rights, obligations and expectations. We address social matters by promoting positive initiatives and reducing any negative impact normal business may have on society. We help to find solutions to reduce waste of time, energy and resources and apply a common sense approach to reducing or recycling materials. These initiatives in turn have positive outcomes to profitability.

Another benefit to the process of addressing workplace, social and environmental issues is the licence for a trademarked certification to be awarded to recognise the positive changes made through the good work of participating organisations.
